Its that time of year again. More than 500 runners put on their running shoes and entered The Claygate 5 Country Run sponsored again this year by Gascoigne Billinghurst. The run took place on Sunday, 11th July at 10.30, with the start and finish at Claygate Recreation Ground in Church Road. The run takes in five miles of delightful country footpaths around the Claygate area.

There were several prizes for various classes of runner including juniors, veterans and seniors and there were awards for the fastest father and son, father and daughter, mother and son, and mother and daughter in the race. Well done to the fastest overall winner Sean Renfer and the fastest female winner Phyllis Flynn. The Gascoigne Billinghurst trophy for fastest super veteran was won for the second year running by Hugh Saxby. Photographs show Sean Renfer crossing the finishing line and the Gascoigne Billinghurst team.
