Claygate Cricket Club, sponsored by Grosvenor Billinghurst, dismissed bottom of the league Hook and Southborough for the lowest total of the season in the Fullers Surrey County League this season, destroying the visitors who could only manage a lowly 29. Openers Luke Webb and Rajindu took all 10 ten wickets in just 11.1 overs! Webb finished for 5 for 6 and Rajindu 5 for 21.
With a changed batting line-up, Claygate lost two wickets in reaching the total, losing Vikram Prabhakar and Jake Harris to a ‘skier’. White and Matchin saw them home in one of the shortest games of the season, and probably one of the shortest-ever league games at Claygate.
With four games of the season to go, Claygate are keeping up the promotion pressure at the top of the Fullers League Division 3 . Claygate are now are in second position – significantly behind Sheen Park, but third place Worplesdon and Burpham have played a game more.
The second XI also beat Hook seconds at Hook and stay in a mid table position in the 2nd XI league.
