Grosvenor Billinghurst Directors Gareth and Ian Davies enjoyed “An evening with Heroes” recently at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms. There was a performance from military drummers as well as speeches from various members of the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, the most highly decorated military regiment in the British Armed Forces.
Gareth and Ian were privileged to meet Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry VC who is the only surviving member of the armed forces to be awarded The Victoria Cross; The Victoria Cross is the highest military decoration awarded for valour “in the face of the enemy”. The evening was hosted by the Friends of the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment who have been formed for two purposes. Firstly to raise funds for past and serving soldiers to enhance their lives, and also to support those after serving in the Regiment to find work and business opportunities.
