Grosvenor will make its Caribbean cricket debut next week after sponsoring Parkside School’s upcoming cricket tour to St Lucia.

The Elmbridge estate agency, which has offices in Cobham, Claygate and Hinchley Wood, was chosen by the school to be the main sponsor for this year’s Year 7 & 8 cricket tournament, which is Parkside’s first major international tournament since the pandemic began.

The Parkside team will fly out to St Lucia on Friday 25 March, where they will play nine games over one week before returning on Sunday 3 April.

Although St Lucia lies over 4,000 miles away from Cobham, the estate agent will be rooting for both teams throughout the entire tournament. Each player’s kit also features the Grosvenor Billnghurst logo proudly emblazoned on the chest.

Gareth Davies, Grosvenor’s Managing Director and Parkside Old Boy, comments: “Having had the privilege of attending Parkside School from 1990 to 1999, it brings great pleasure for me and my team to be Parkside Cricket Team’s main sponsor as they embark on a tour of St Lucia. I have nothing but fond memories of my time at this school, and I know that this trip will certainly create fantastic memories for all those who will be flying out there in March. Good luck to everyone who’s representing the school. We all wish you well.”

Nicole Marcangelo, Marketing Director at Parkside School, adds: “The excitement has reached fever pitch as we count down the days until take-off. The pupils and teachers are looking forward to the tournament and we all hope to return with a trophy or two. In the meantime, we’re delighted that Grosvenor has sponsored the tour, particularly given the link between them and the school, and we now hope that the Year 7 and 8 boys do us proud!”
