Grosvenor, the Surrey estate agent with offices in Claygate, Cobham and Hinchley Wood, is creating social value within Elmbridge after raising £1,020 in just over 12 months for two local foodbanks.

East Elmbridge Foodbank and Cobham Area Foodbank each received £510 after Grosvenor launched a campaign that saw the Elmbridge property experts commit to donate £10 for every Google Review made by its clients.

All Google Reviews made by residents in and around Claygate and Hinchley Wood saw £10 being made to East Elmbridge Foodbank. All reviews made by residents in Cobham and the surrounding areas resulted in a £10 donation to the Cobham Area Foodbank.

A total of 102 Google Reviews have been made since the launch of the campaign, which the estate agent has committed to run indefinitely.

Tim Malcolm, Foodbank and Social Action Director at East Elmbridge Foodbank, comments: “No one in our community should have to face going hungry, but sadly some do. Given the current climate, the number of those facing difficulty is likely to increase so we're working to address the root causes that bring people to the point of food crisis. We're really thankful for Grosvenor's donations, demonstrating their commitment to the Elmbridge community, and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support.”

Chris Burton, Director at Grosvenor’s Claygate office, adds: “East Elmbridge and Cobham Area Foodbanks work tirelessly to help people within Elmbridge get the support they need, and have already shown that they provide critical assistance within the areas in which we also operate. Nobody should ever go hungry and we applaud the work that both foodbanks are carrying out. Whilst we acknowledge that our efforts form a small portion of donations both organisations receive, we’re proud to contribute to a great cause and delighted to widen our package of community support initiatives.”

In 2021, East Elmbridge Foodbank provided 18,669 meals for those in crisis with help from 619 people.
